What our clients are saying
As a daughter caring for my 97-year-old dad, I’ve learned that home care has its own model, especially when receiving VA-authorized care. In our experience, agencies generally work with a pool of HHAs, with shifts offered based on things such as location, length of shift, and caregiver availability.
We’ve also learned that VA home care has its own guidelines and structure, and it is different from private-pay care. The role of the HHA is primarily to assist with activities of daily living within the authorized plan of care.
What has stood out to us with HomeWell is **Martin**.
We’ve worked with three other agencies, and in our experience, Martin’s integrity is unmatched.
Years ago, when we first needed VA home care, Martin was honest with us. He told the VA that he did not have caregivers available who could meet dad’s needs in our area. Rather than accept the hours without having the support to properly serve us, he chose to be honest because he did not want to disappoint us.
We remembered that.
Years later, when we were in need of a new agency, we remembered Martin—and chose HomeWell.
What continues to stand out is how Martin listens, communicates, and stays intuitive to our needs. He understands that caregiving is personal and that finding the right fit takes time. Our care team is still a work in progress, and we are okay with that.
We’ve learned that caregivers may come and go. People have circumstances and life changes that are beyond an agency’s control. What matters is how the person at the helm responds.
**What matters to us is who is at the helm. **
An agency can have good caregivers and still have challenges. That is the nature of home care. But when you have an owner who listens, communicates, tells you the truth, pays attention to the details, and genuinely cares about getting the right people in the right place, it makes a difference.
That has been our experience with Martin. His integrity was what made us remember him years later, and his leadership is what has continued to give us confidence in HomeWell.
For us, the difference isn’t that HomeWell has somehow created a completely different caregiving model. The difference is **the person behind it**.
And when I think about why I chose HomeWell, it comes down to this: I remembered Martin. ❤️
When I need home care help I can count on Home Well Care Services.
