Every year throughout the month of May, we honor the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country\u2019s freedom. According to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2020\/veterans-report.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">U.S. Census Bureau<\/a>, in 2019, there were more than 18 million Veterans in the United States. In 2020, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dol.gov\/agencies\/vets\/latest-numbers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unemployment rates<\/a>&nbsp;for Veterans increased to 6.5%. Many veterans struggle to enter the civilian workforce due to a variety of reasons, including not being able to translate the skills learned in the military to civilian work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At HomeWell, <a href=\"https:\/\/homewellfranchising.com\/blog\/franchise-veterans-home-care\/\">we know Veterans possess the skills needed<\/a> to be a successful franchise owner. Some transferrable skills that an owner of a home care agency should have include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"h-leadership-skills\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Leadership Skills<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"h-time-management\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Time Management<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"h-discipline\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discipline<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"h-people-management\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">People Management<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"h-multi-tasking\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Multi-Tasking<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"h-grit\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grit<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"h-the-desire-to-help-people\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Desire to Help People<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brandon Clifford, SVP of Development and Franchise Services said, \u201cHelping Veterans become business owners is really important to our company. They\u2019ve served our country so giving back to them was an initiative I wanted to bring to HomeWell Care Services. Many Veterans are a great fit for our brand because of the skills and training they learn in the military.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HomeWell provides a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/homewellfranchising.com\/discover-more\/initial-investment\/veterans-discount\/\">20% discount<\/a>&nbsp;off the franchise fee for Veterans. In a recent&nbsp;blog, we featured three of our Veteran owners who were able to take advantage of the discount and opened their HomeWell Care Services agencies last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently we\u2019ve attracted two more Veterans to our franchise system.&nbsp;Brandon Phipps&nbsp;and his behind-the-scenes business partner, Jeff Standridge, will be opening their HomeWell Care Services agency in Little Rock, AR this year.
